Biography
Magnus Baumgartl is a concert pianist based in Halle (Saale) with an international performance career. His musical journey began at the age of eight at the music school in his hometown of Oberkochen. Early performances and engagements quickly drew attention to his exceptional talent – making the path to a professional career a natural one.
He studied piano at the University of Music in Trossingen with Prof. Ákos Hernádi (major) and Mechthild Großmann (piano pedagogy), graduating with top honors. Since April 2024, he has continued his artistic training in the master’s program at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin with Prof. Konrad Maria Engel.
Important artistic impulses came from masterclasses with renowned musicians such as Prof. Noam Sivan (piano improvisation), Prof. Thomas Hell, and Prof. Michail Lifts. His education is further enriched by intensive self-study in music history, theory, and pedagogy.
Magnus has many years of stage experience and a remarkably versatile concert profile – ranging from classical solo recitals to elegant event performances and modern show formats. As an ocean pianist, he regularly performs aboard the exclusive luxury cruise ships of Hapag Lloyd, bringing his music to audiences around the world.
He is also a regular artist with Dreamlight Concerts, performing specially arranged piano concerts featuring anime and film music for an ever-growing international audience. His music has found a wide online following as well – with over 10 million views on YouTube.
